COMPETITION INFORMATION

• PHOTOTGENIC – 10% of score

  • Photo must be in good test, headshot only, clear, no glamour shoots, age appropriate. they made get used in an editorial write up for the Riverfest so keep in mind how you want your image portrayed.

• INTERVIEW – 30% of score

  • Contestants will participate in a 5-minute interview in front of the judge’s panel. Questions will derive from the contestant’s application sheet as well as information about Wilmington Riverfest and current events at the discretion of the judges. Attire: business style which can include but is not limited to dress, jumpsuit, blouse and pants, etc.

• ONSTAGE INTRODUCTION – 30% of score 

  • Contestants will introduce themselves at the beginning of the pageant. Contestants will be given 90 seconds to talk about themselves, their accomplishments, goals, and why they should be crowned Wilmington North Carolina Riverfest Teen/Queen. Attire: contestants will wear jeans, a white top of their choice and need heels. T shirts are not allowed.

• TALENT- 15% of score

  • Talent is no more than 90 sec. Talent must be performed on stage. These acts can include singing, dancing, acting, playing an instrument, poetry, comedy, or other activities. The act may not include assistance from another person.

• EVENING GOWN- 15% of score

  • Contestants will model an evening gown of their choice. Evening gowns should reflect the personality of the contestant. Evening gowns should be floor length and age appropriate. Please remember that it is not about the cost of the gown, but it is about the girl wearing the gown.
